The Comoros is an island nation in the Indian Ocean, at the northern end of the Mozambique Channel. They had the greatest income inequality of any nation on earth.[When?][citation needed]

Since independence from France, the Comoros experienced more than 20 coups or attempted coups.[1]
Invaded by the African Union in 2008.[2]
