ChariTeas now open

The BBC, Wave 105 and The Daily Echo helped to celebrate the launch this week of a unique tearoom which opened its doors at The Marlands Shopping Centre.

ChariTeas is the brainchild of Adam and Tracey Gregory, founders of the charity, U Support, which provides opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged young people across the region.

The couple, who have received many awards for their work, have now turned their hand to creating the new Edwardian-style tearoom in the Centre, which offers a range of delicious breakfasts, lunches, homemade cakes and cream teas freshly prepared on the premises. Profits from ChariTeas will assist U Support’s activities.

ChariTeas has received huge support from the world of showbusiness as well as from local companies such as famous tea company, Ahmad Tea, who supply exclusive outlets including Harrods and Selfridges, and are kindly donating their range of teas to the new tearoom.

Tim Keeping, General Manager at The Marlands, said: “ChariTeas is one of a kind and we are delighted to be able to offer space at the Centre to this exciting and worthwhile venture.

The tearoom is fast becoming the place of choice in Southampton as the ideal relaxing spot to take a relaxing break from shopping and enjoy the wonderful environment and friendly atmosphere.”
